Rather than “may you live in interesting times”, why not “May your days exceed your dreams and defeat your nightmares”?
As far as dreams go, Leaflet is pretty cool. So is ATProto. Maybe the utopian vision of an internet that’s less dark forest and more national park or Allemansrätten is still possible. I may still have to retreat deeper into the forest.
For now, here’s to something that feels a bit like the Internet 20 years ago.
